Law and scraping

Which rules govern the collection of publicly available data in Russia.

This section is for reference only and is not legal advice. It names the applicable rules and what they govern; consult a lawyer to assess a specific situation.

What we collect

The service collects publicly available information about businesses: name, address, coordinates, category, and the contacts businesses publish themselves on their own websites and in mapping service listings. Information about private individuals is not collected.

Why the distinction matters

Information about a company and information about a person fall under different regimes. A company phone number and address are corporate data; personal data is governed by a separate law and needs different grounds for processing. We separate the two at collection time.
